Veena Malik saddened by Peshawar Zalmi's defeat in PSL
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – The famous Pakistani actress Veena Malik along with husband Asad Khattak and son visited Shaukat Khanum Hospital in Peshawar today (Tuesday). The actress met patients in different wards and rooms. Talking to media outside the hospital, Veena Malik lauded Pakistan Super League (PSL), terming it as Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) innovative step. She said that PSL will encourage the talented youth. She said that she supported Peshawar Zalmi but the team had rout out of the tournament and now who will win is not important as the trophy will come to Pakistan. Responding to a question, Veena Malik said that she is not planning to join politics yet.

I’ve signed a British film: Veena Malik
claims Pakistani starlet Veena Malik, who is crossing over from Bollywood to international cinema
She is yet to make her Bollywood debut, but Pakistani starlet Veena Malik is already contemplating international cinema. The controversial actor informs BT that she has signed a British film, in which she has a powerful role. “I am getting many offers from across the globe. Recently, a UK film team was in Dubai and I was shortlisting a few offers that would suit me. I have zeroed in on a few fashion projects and a film. I can’t reveal more at the moment,” says Veena, who is currently in Dubai.
Though the filmmakers in India are crying foul over her films here falling behind schedule, Veena says she will honour all her commitments. Director Hemant Madhukar had reportedly said Veena has `11 crore riding on her and she is yet to shoot the climax of his thriller, Mumbai 125 Kms, which is expected to hit screens later this year. “All my producers and directors are well aware of my schedule and I will not let anyone down. I am the leading lady and I am sure there are crores and crores riding on me,” she laughs.
When asked if Veena is upset that her item number from her recently released film that starred Akshay Khanna was removed during the special screening for anti-corruption activist Anna Hazare at Ralegaon Siddhi and she retorts, “Well, it is the director’s call and he knows better where to screen the song and where he shouldn’t.”
The latest rumour in tinsel town is that there is tension brewing between the two actors of Zindagi 50-50, Riya Sen and Veena. Buzz has it that the director of the film, Rajeev Ruia, is keen to cast the two ladies in an item number and had been canning their scenes separately for the film. “I am not sure about the item number because I have already shot two songs. I haven’t really worked with Riya till now. But if the filmmaker chooses to shoot a song with her, I will definitely do it. After all, she’s a wonderful actor,” says Veena.
Finally, ask Veena about wrestler and Payal Rohatgi’s boyfriend Sangram Singh, who turned down the offer of joining Veena’s telly swayamvar, despite being offered an astronomical sum of money and she says, “Did he? Well, I can only laugh about it.” Meanwhile, the actor reveals that wants to make the switch from women-oriented roles to comedy. “I believe it is very tough to make someone laugh and after the spoofs in my item number in my last release, I am hoping I will get some comedy roles soon,” she signs off.

Perhaps this was the apocalypse that the Mayans had been losing sleep over. Here, then, is her first address to the nation as head of state:

Today I stand proud before you as the first elected woman president of this country and the only one to have been a model, actress, comedian, mimic, TV show host, reality TV star and something else that I forgot. I have so many diverse talents that I will apply again to the Guineeez Book of Records. Last time I did that they said they had no category for the biggest attention-grabbing sleazebag. Well, I hope being president would change that. Or would it? Anyways, I digress. When I was running for this exalted office many people tried to laugh it off. What, Veena? President!? But I kept my faith, one of the few things I kept on. If Newt Gingrich can run for president, I reckoned, any Dick can do it. And Tom and Harry too. I digress again. I wanted to keep this speech briefs but this is a momentous occasion and the biggest photo-shoot I ever did. So bare with me, please.
We all know Pakistan is in bad shape; we need a workout. I mean we need to work hard. We have hit bottom. But now we’ll go for the top. With me as your leader, I can assure you we will rise to new heights. I have ambitious plans. We will erect new buildings; build roads, overhead bridges, underpants. We will raise our economy so ordinary people could afford Gucci and Prada and Tariq Amin facials. But to achieve all that we have to make sacrifices and take very bold steps. I will do all my parts but the entire nation should contribute. I want all of you to become model citizens. To that end I would encourage the growth of modelling agencies and beauty salons. I would encourage foreign investment, especially from big, reputable international firms like Playboy and Victoria’s Secret. And for people’s shopping convenience, I intend to build strip malls all over, and very fast food joints for the hungry and needy. Also, for recreation and for promoting very soft images of Pakistan, we’ll have clothing-optional resorts in places like Swat, Lyari and Raiwind. Yes, I intend to give Pakistan a complete makeover!

We should keep abreast with India, and we should pose no threat to it whatsoever; it’s a happening place and the commissions are good.
With the Americans I intend to be soft and firm at the same time, depending on the situation. They’ve been bombing us but, seriously, they have great glossy ’zines. I have yet to decide about that country and I won’t reveal too much at this stage.

Veena Malik planning to launch her first music album
The controversial queen of Pakistan, Veena Malik, has recently revealed in an interview with Dawn that she has decided to launch her first music album, which will have both audio and video.
Veena, who became popular in India during her stint in the Bigg Boss 4, insisted she always wanted to be a singer but her friends suggested her to become an actress since she had a pretty face.
“However, now I have decided to launch my first album — both audio and video — I shall release my album with a single track to start with,” she said.
“My singing will represent young generation and for them I shall be singing some rock stuff.”
Veena Malik will be featured on the season four of the reality show ‘Swayamvar’. The show has been named as ‘Veena Ka Vivaah’ because Veena will find her swami on it.
Previously, ‘Swayamvar’, which comes on Imagine TV, showcased the likes of Rakhi Sawant, Rahul Mahajan and Ratan Rajput on the show but they only gathered 30,000, 43,000 and 54,000 entries respectively. Nevertheless, Ms Malik, who has always locked headlines for wrong reasons in the country, surprised everyone by gathering over 72, 000 applications on the show, thus setting a new world record.
She reckons the main reason behind so many entries is this that people like Pakistani girls and their tradition.
“The show had received some 72,000 entries from all over the world which is a record,” the actress confirmed.
It’s only a matter of time before Veena’s first Bollywood film ‘Mumbai 125 Km’ will hit the cinemas. She is also participating in other projects like ‘Daal Main Kuch Kala Hai’, ‘Zindagi 50/50’ and ‘Super Model’.
Though all of Veena’s films are attracting audiences, the one being discussed the most is ‘Super Model’ because in this movie she will play a role opposite to her ex-flame Ashmit Patel.
When asked about it, Veena confirmed the news, “I am also doing a film ‘Super Model’ with Ashmit Patel, she said.
Ms Malik, in the meantime, also stated that she will soon visit Pakistan as well to do some projects.

It would be so wrong to state that all of Veena’s efforts are in vain and that she is not even close to becoming one of the most popular figures (perverts are advised to keep their thoughts in check) in the country. From what I have noticed, the name Veena
Malik has become even more popular than our beloved President Asif Ali Zardari, with someone somewhere in Pakistan uttering her name with utmost affection (kindly sense the sarcasm).
A number of people would be outraged to find me use words such as “famous” and “popular” while talking about Veena. If they are for some reason trying to assert that I am wrong to use such words for someone who, according to them, is better suited to the
word “notorious,” I can request them to get over their double standards already. If Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian can be considered famous despite their cheap antics to get recognition (yes we all got that particular email about Paris in our hotmail five
to six years back), then there is absolutely no reason to treat Veena any differently.
There may be very few people who are actually aware of the impact that Veena has made in their lives. The woman has done everything right to gradually inject her with a drug that has made us obsessed with us. She may be slight over-weight, she may not be

‘Channo’ girl: Veena’s victories
KARACHI: The year has just begun and Pakistan’s very own controversy queen, also known as the “Channo” girl now, Veena Malik has already added a myriad feathers to her cap. India has turned out to be the land of opportunities for Malik, who has received tremendous amount of publicity — both good and bad — since she started her career in India with reality show “Bigg Boss” season 4 in 2010.
After two years of persistent hard work, Malik now has her hands full of big projects and she feels that she is finally getting rewarded for her efforts. “From walking the ramp during Jaipur Fashion Week to shooting for my second reality show ‘Swayamvar’ which will be aired next month, life is as adventurous as a rollercoaster ride these days. I’m overwhelmed by the number of projects I’m getting here,” says Malik.
Strutting her stuff
The actor, who represented fashion brand Libas at the Jaipur Fashion Week, states, “I have always loved the ramp. I received an overwhelming response from the crowd at fashion week. As I walked down the ramp, people started screaming my name. I just loved walking the ramp for designer Riyaz Gangji.”
A music maestro?
Malik adds that just because she is doing fashion shows and television series doesn’t mean she is not giving time to her singing career which was launched with her song “Channo” from the film Gali Gali Chor Hai. “After the success of ‘Channo’ I have become more confident about my singing abilities. I will be singing more and will be releasing more songs. I do not have any plans to release an album for now, but I have already recorded three tracks, while five more are in the pipeline.”
Putting the gift of gab to good use
The multifaceted diva, who also tried her luck at cricket commentary during the Asia Cup 2012 in Bangladesh, says, “Asia Cup disappointed me to a great extent. I had thought India versus Pakistan would be a happening match but sadly we lost. Then again, I was looking forward to India and Pakistan playing against each other in the finals but that too did not happen. So yes, I was extremely upset the way Asia Cup turned out.”
The Bollywood saga never ends
The actor says that she is also unhappy that her upcoming film Mumbai 125 Kilometer’s shooting has come to an end. “Working with Hemant Madhukar was an amazing experience. I think this film gave me a chance to grow as an actor. We had several thrilling moments during the shoot which is why it is going to be one of my most memorable projects. Many scenes of Mumbai 125 Kilometer were shot in the dark and we even shot at strange and exciting locations like the jungle and the graveyard.”
Where the wrapping up of one venture has left her sad and nostalgic, Malik is also excited to start shooting for Supermodel in June. “I am impatiently waiting for the shooting to begin.” Apart from the Indian projects, Malik also has some British projects lined up, details of which she said, “it’s too early to disclose”.
Coming back to Pakistan
Even though she is at the zenith of her career, Malik says she still misses home and wants to visit her family in Pakistan. “I really miss Pakistan and I’m dying to be with my family but it seems a little impossible this year as a lot of projects are lined up one after the other.”
